Roughly 167,800 families who face foreclosure will receive housing counseling through the eighth round of funding from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program. The government-funded NFMC program awarded $63.1 million to 29 state housing financing agencies, 18 housing counseling intermediaries and 67 community development and affordable housing organizations affiliated with the non-profit NeighborWorks, according to a Wednesday press release. …
